YESTERDAY WE TOOK THIS KITTY IN TO BE SPAYED BUT INSTEAD OF A UTERUS, THE VET FOUND A PELLET FROM A GUN IN HER STOMACH!

Meet Chippie. She's been coming to my house for food and some love twice a day every day for over a year. At night she sleeps outside my house (in her own kennel) and sometimes she will hang around during the day. I don't know who she belongs to, IF she belongs to anyone.

Worrying that she might be pregnant (she's gotten very fat), we took her to the vet yesterday to check if she has been spayed. The vet tried for quite a time to locate her uterus, then finally noticed that her ear had been clipped, like they do with ferals, so she had been spayed already. (I thought it was an injury because it looked like it was torn rather than cut - hence the name Chippie).

But then, while looking for her uterus, the vet noticed a pellet (from a pellet gun) in her stomach! There is a healed entry wound on her side, so this probably happened about 2 weeks ago. We never noticed it because her hair covered the wound.

Horrified that someone had actually shot her, and knowing that she is not safe outside, we decided that we will now have to firstly make sure she doesn't have an owner, and then rehome her. I will be keeping her inside until I know either way.
