  • Hi. What you are describing is very common problem of dogs between 5 months and 2 years. I cannot tell you how many people want to give up and take the dogs back to the rescue org but please remember that she will possibly be put down by her new owners as they will not love her like you do. The most important thing is never react to her destructiveness as this will make the problem a hundred times worse. Make sure she gets a good hours walk everyday and try to make sure all your precious items are out of her reach. Give her a big yummy bone or rawhide to chew on when you go out as it sounds as if she is suffering from separation anxiety. Never say goodbye to her and ignore her when you get home. Do NOT react to any damage she may have done as all she remembers when you go out is that you get cross with her when you come home. She does not know that you are cross because she chewed your favourite shoes but only that you are always cross when you come home so she stresses when you leave and starts chewing something to alleviate the stress. You come home, shout at her and so the problem gets worse. Have you considered taking both your pooches to doggy daycare a couple of days a week to play. What area are you in. You can sms me on 0798837566 for daycare in your area. Please feel free to call me to discuss further.
