Hi Tracy. Sadly, dog and cat intro can take a long time, up to 6 months. And it normally is not the dog that takes a long time to accept the cat but visa versa. I suggest getting some calming collars, sold at vets or vet shops which help to calm your cats down so that they are happier to just chill where your dog is. Make sure your cats have surfaces they can jump to safety in case your dog chases them. Take your dog for a long walk and then, when he is tired, with the cats outside, take him outside, and just be calm. You say it is difficult to be with them seperately, I would try to be with them altogether as often as possible. Give the cats some yummy wet food while your dog is around and also give your pooch some yummy treats when the cats are around so that they both associate yummy things with the other. And just be patient. The cats will come around and start accepting this new "thing" in their space.
